Farmers’ Breakfast with Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman

On Saturday, March 27, Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman will attend a Farmers’ Breakfast at Lynnville Community Center. Lieutenant Governor Skillman will provide farmers and those interested in rural issues an update on this legislative session and listen to the concerns and hopes of southwest Indiana farmers. The free breakfast will begin at 9:30 a.m. CDT, followed by the Lieutenant Governor’s remarks and listening session at 10:00 a.m. CDT.

The Black Buggy, an area favorite, will cater the breakfast of sausage and pancakes. Donations to cover the cost of the breakfast will be accepted. Sponsors include Rudolph Brothers’ Implement Company, Heuring Crop Insurance, Freedom Healthcare, Pat Koch and Will Koch.

The session is hosted by Candidates for State Representative Ron Bacon of District 75 and Sue Ellspermann of District 74. Ellspermann stated, “Agriculture is a core industry of our region, so more attention needs to be given to understand and provide for the unique needs of farmers and those in agriculture-related businesses. The Lieutenant Governor provides leadership and oversight to agriculture in the State of Indiana. This is a wonderful opportunity for our local farmers and others interested in rural and agricultural issues to share their thoughts with Lieutenant Governor Skillman”. Bacon stated “With the tough hit we have taken in our sagging economy, government needs to be working extra hard to do everything possible to help our farmers. I encourage all farmers to attend and let us know what we can do to make government work more for them.”
