A Primary Message from Sue Ellspermann
Tuesday, April 27th, 2010
As we near Primary day, first and foremost, I want to encourage you to vote. Then, decide who will best represent you in the wide array of races in your community. Here is what I think is important as a Republican candidate for District 74 State Representative:
1. Create good solutions. I have observed the partisanship in our legislature and, to an even greater extent, in Washington. We are all tired of it. Consider electing people who are committed to work together to solve problems. I am running because I have spent 25 years facilitating change: bringing groups together, helping them define the high leverage challenges, and then solving them. I believe there are good ideas on both sides of the aisle and many more good ideas outside of Indianapolis from Hoosiers like you. My job will be to help bring good ideas and good problem solving to our legislature. (more…)

The Washington Post Magazine Highlights Fritz and Ferdinand
Saturday, April 24th, 2010
Can you believe that Washington DC is actually touting the small town appeal of Ferdinand, Siberia and southern Indiana? The story began months ago when Annie Groer, Washington Post writer, asked to do this story about Keith Fritz, a local furniture artisan. Keith, a Perry County native, was making furniture in Washington DC for some very big names such as President Bill Clinton and for the Theological College at Catholic University when he decided to move back to southern Indiana. He now owns 1440 Main Street in Ferdinand which not only houses his fine furniture factory, but also a business enterprise center which fills out the old factory to include a coffee shop, antique emporium, framing shop, web designer, and more businesses being added each month. Since moving, he has also produced at table for President George W. Bush at the George W. Bush Foundation in Dallas. (more…)

Republican Candidates Enjoy Strolling Rockport
Sunday, April 18th, 2010
Kelly Dunsworth Johnson, Republican Candidate for Prosecutor and Mickey Toller, Republican Candidate for County Commissioner in Spencer County, joined the Sue Ellspermann for State Rep campaign team and volunteers Saturday morning to meet the good folks of Rockport. We had a glorious day and some breathtaking views of the Ohio River as we went door to door in downtown Rockport.
My passion is to grow our SW Indiana economy through attracting and internal growth of high value industries bringing high wage jobs and, most importantly, good opportunities for our young people to remain and return home. Rockport has seen considerable shrinkage these past years. However, Rockport also has some wonderful assets and many good people. I would be honored to work hard for the folks of Rockport, Spencer County and all of District 74 if you will elect me as your State Representative. I would appreciate your vote on Tuesday, May 4. Thank you in advance.

Turning Ferdinand “Sue’s Blue”
Monday, April 12th, 2010
Thanks to our great Sue Ellspermann for State Rep volunteers who canvassed the town wearing “Sue’s blue” shirts during the Ferdinand Town-wide Yard Sale Saturday. We met and surveyed lots of people…both Ferdinand residents and shoppers coming in for the great buys. What a glorious day it was and what a great job you did! Thank you for getting out the message of our campaign and making a difference in our district. If you are interested in our next “blitz”, we’d love to have you!

Lynnville Rocks!
Saturday, April 10th, 2010
Thanks to the good folks of Lynnville for allowing our Warrick County Republican Candidate Cadre [Art Noffsinger for County Commissioner, Aric Pryor for County Council and JoAnn Krantz for Prosecutor] to visit you “door-to-door” on Saturday. We are so pleased with the many who offered to have yard signs and will work diligently to get them to you. It is my ongoing pleasure getting to meet folks during these neighborhood strolls, as well as many other events. I hope many will attend our Listening Session on Monday or Wednesday evening at the Boonville Library to share their hopes, dreams, and concerns with me, as well as their fellow community members. Sue Ellspermann, Candidate for State Representative District 74, Notified of Challenger Appeal of IEC Ruling that Validated Her Candidacy
Friday, April 9th, 2010
Earlier this year, Sue Ellspermann, Candidate for State Representative for District 74, had her candidacy challenged. The challenge was defeated at a hearing at the Indiana Elections Commission, clearing the way for voters to decide who to elect as their voice in District 74. Rather than accepting the Election Commission’s decision, on April 8, Ellspermann was notified by certified letter that the challenge continues with an appeal case being filed in the Marion County Superior Court. Happy Easter!
Sunday, April 4th, 2010
I hope your family celebrated the miracle of Easter this weekend. We participated in the reading of the Passion replaying the crucifixion of Jesus on Good Friday and, of course, with Easter, His resurrection from death and His gift of salvation to believers. Our Christian faith calls us to be servant leaders as Jesus was. It calls us to love and to help others.
The Easter Holiday also serves to bring families together. St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, as I suspect you experienced with your own church, was crowded to the brim this morning with young and old, especially children and grandchildren as the young families and college kids were home for the weekend. As I watched these beautiful, beaming, intelligent young people walk down the aisles, it highlighted to me the need to find ways to incent investment and entrepreneurism, and to create more opportunities for young adults to stay and come back to our rural communities. There were many who would love to be near parents, grandparents, friends, safe communities and quality schools.
That is our challenge and that is my focus if you elect me as your representative in the Indiana legislature.

Perry and Spencer County Campaign Teams Launched!
Thursday, April 1st, 2010
Perry County and Spencer County Campaign Teams were launched this week with the help of Gayle Strassell and Pat Koch. Both women did a fabulous job of inviting “movers and shakers” who will help energize these counties. Our team has distributed an initial round of yard signs. Many more, along with large 2 x 4 foot signs and car magents will be available by mid-week. Please send your request for yard signs and car magnets to RSVP@SueEllspermann.com and we will ensure you have a delivery by next weekend.
